On a recent holiday to Nice I came across the fantastic J Louis Martinetti Gallery, inside I found a collection of some of the most stunning vintage Grand Prix photography I have ever seen. The gallery is a car lovers dream with a huge variety of Formula 1 memorabilia as well as classic car prints.
I was completely captivated by images that were taken by J Louis Martinetti himself of the 1936 Monaco Grand Prix, a Grand Prix that became known for its tricky driving conditions that led to so many crashes in the chicane out of the tunnel that it became almost impassable. One such moment has been captured beautifully by Martinetti and I couldn’t resist purchasing some prints of my own. Now off to Ikea to get them framed!
