The Project

This 2002 Mazda MX-5 arrived at our Carrosserie workshop in May 2024 for bodywork repairs due to corrosion.

22nd May 2024: Works to repair both sills have started. Once complete it will move over to our paint shop.

12th June 2024: Both inner and outer sills have been fitted and now work on both rear wheel arch repairs has begun.

> More updates to follow.

The Mazda MX5 was the sports car that revived the genre and today has a huge following around the world, not least within the UK, a country that was reminded of its obsession with the soft-top small sports car by Mazda’s masterpiece.

Mazda MX-5 MK2/2.5 1998 > 2005

The next generation is known as the mark two or NB model. The main thing Mazda changed from the Mk1 was that they used fixed headlights with a separate chamber for the bulbs within the lamp. They used the same more or less the same engine as the Mk1 offering an 110bhp 1.6 litre engine and a 140bhp 1.8 litre. They gave it upgrades such as heated rear windscreen, remote boot opener and airbags.
